Sakai knives are traditionally made with plain magnolia handles, which often discolor and require replacement – inconvenient for international users.
To solve this, master craftsman Junetsu Momose collaborated with urushi artisans to create lacquer-coated handles, designed to last longer while maintaining their beauty.
