Shigeki Tanaka is a fourth-generation blacksmith from Miki City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. His family originally specialized in forging sickles and agricultural tools, with over a century of craftsmanship.
To refine his skills, Tanaka trained for three years at “Shimizu Hamono” in Fukui before officially joining the family business—Tanaka Kazuyuki Hamono—in 1999.
