• Founded in Hirosaki, Aomori, with over 350 years of history.

• Originated as official swordsmiths of the Tsugaru clan during the Edo period, now designated as an official Traditional Japanese Craft workshop.

• Lineage of craftsmen:
  　・Nigara Hiroshi (Kuninobu): Renowned swordsmith, recognized as an Intangible Cultural Property of Aomori Prefecture.
  　・7th generation: Yoshizawa Toshihisa
  　・Current 8th generation: Yoshizawa Tsuyoshi

• Though katana forging ceased after the Haitōrei decree, the spirit and craftsmanship live on in every Nigara kitchen knife.
