🏯 關於匠人 — 野村祥太郎(傳統工藝士)

・傳統工藝士認定年份:1988 年

野村祥太郎先生為堺地區最具代表性的磨師之一,師承昭和名匠「伊野氏」。
自創業以來始終秉持「寧可只造一把,也要做到極致」的信念。
他以嚴謹的刃磨工藝聞名,
比一般工匠多出 1–2 道研磨工序,
不僅追求初見時的美感,更重視實際使用後的切味與耐久性。
年逾八十的他仍居於堺市甲斐町西,持續投入研磨製作。
其作品屢獲「堺百選」及政府表彰,
是當代極具代表性的傳統工藝師之一。

🏯 About the Craftsmen — Shotaro Nomura & Shogo Yamatsuka
🔹 Shotaro Nomura (Traditional Craftsman)
・Started career in 1962
・Certified Traditional Craftsman in 1988
・Recipient of the 2009 Medal of Honor with Yellow Ribbon (瑞寶單光章)
Nomura is one of Sakai’s most respected polishers, apprenticed under master sharpener Mr. Ino.
He is known for his motto: “Even if I make only one knife, it must be my best.”
His polishing process includes one to two extra stages beyond the standard,
pursuing not only aesthetic beauty but also enduring sharpness and balance in use.
Now in his eighties, Nomura continues his work in Sakai’s Kaichō district,
recognized by the “Sakai 100 Selections” and Japan’s Ministry of Economy for his lifelong craftsmanship.
